How to watch Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s 2025 State of the State address

AUSTIN (NEXSTAR) — Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s 2025 State of the State address will air live across Texas Sunday, Feb. 2 on 14 television markets and 15 television stations served by Nexstar, including KXAN.

Abbott’s one-hour address will begin at 5 p.m. and will be broadcast to potentially more than 25 million Texans.

According to the Governor’s office, Abbott will be listing the “emergency issues” he is directing state lawmakers to focus on during the upcoming legislative session. Additionally, Abbott will be focusing on border security, school choice and the need for bail reform.

A recent episode of “State of Texas” explores a voucher proposal working its way through the legislature.

“Nexstar and its television stations across Texas are proud to once again produce and carry Governor Abbott’s State of the State address,” said Andy Alford, President of Nexstar’s broadcasting division. “We are committed to serving the communities in which we are located by delivering exclusive live local news programming that enables our viewers to make informed decisions about the issues that matter most to them. We thank Governor Abbott for trusting Nexstar with this opportunity.”

The Texas Democratic Party will respond with a rebuttal after Abbott’s address. A round-table discussion with members of the legislature and Nexstar reporters will follow the Democratic response.
