Wrapped in Love
STBTC and The Stay Strong Foundation are partnering for a blood drive at the Chicken N Pickle, located at 5200 UTSA Boulevard.
According to a statement from the Stay Strong Foundation, STBTC will collect blood donations on-site from noon to four p.m. on Saturday.
The Stay Strong Foundation will also be collecting new blankets for children fighting cancer.
The statement said Chicken N Pickle will donate 10 percent of all food and drink sales during the event to the Stay Strong Foundation.
“For many kids fighting cancer, blood transfusions are just as critical as chemotherapy,” said Debi Nieto, co-founder of the Stay Strong Foundation. “This shortage is life-threatening, and we are calling on our community to step up, donate, and make an impact. Whether you give blood, donate a new blanket, or simply enjoy a meal at Chicken N Pickle, you’re making a difference.”
Noah Adams, a survivor of Ewing Sarcoma, inspired the Stay Strong Foundation.
The nonprofit helps children with cancer and their families through various toy and blanket drives and the I.C.O.N. T-shirt program.
You can schedule an appointment in advance on their website or stop by the event.
