Commemorating the 125th anniversary of City National Bank of Colorado City.

R E S O L U T I O N

 

       WHEREAS, City National Bank of Colorado City is marking the

 

125th anniversary of its founding on April 10, 2025, and this

 

occasion provides a fitting opportunity to recognize its vital

 

contributions to the Lone Star State; and

 

       WHEREAS, This venerable financial institution was

 

established on April 4, 1900, when the Office of the Comptroller of

 

the Currency authorized the bank to begin operation in West Texas;

 

originally known as The City National Bank of Colorado, it

 

eventually merged with The Colorado National Bank and continued to

 

serve Mitchell County as City National Bank of Colorado City; in

 

2019, it opened a new location in San Angelo to better serve area

 

residents; and

 

       WHEREAS, Since its founding, City National Bank of Colorado

 

City has been guided by the belief that “principle comes before

 

principal”; the bank’s leadership, which includes president and CEO

 

Wrey Montgomery, seeks to uphold a philosophy that honors

 

reciprocity and personal responsibility, and its employees are

 

dedicated to treating customers’ finances with the same care and

 

respect as their own; and

 

       WHEREAS, Businesses that employ Texans and help to strengthen

 

the local economy are important components of a prosperous future,

 

and City National Bank of Colorado City is deserving of recognition

 

for the positive role it plays in Colorado City, San Angelo, and

 

beyond; now, therefore, be it

 

       RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas

 

Legislature hereby commemorate the 125th anniversary of City

 

National Bank of Colorado City and extend to all those associated

 

with the institution sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it

 

further

 

       RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

 

prepared for the bank as an expression of high regard by the Texas

 

House of Representatives.
