I-35E in Denton closes after crash involving dump truck, several cars, officials say

 

A dump truck spilled on I-35E in Denton Monday morning, causing a delay for several hours, officials said.

FORT WORTH, Texas — Interstate 35E was closed during the morning commute Monday after a dump truck got stuck on a lane divider, closing the highway for several hours, officials said. 

Lanes on both sides of the highway were closed after multiple cars and a dump truck were involved in an accident around 7 a.m. Monday on I-35E near North Texas Boulevard in Denton, according to the Texas Department of Transportation. 

Denton police responded to the crash which involved a hazmat spill and lane divider damage, the Denton Fire Department said in a social media post. 

Commutes should expect delays until about 12:30 p.m., officials said. 

By 8:30 a.m., the crash caused traffic to back up for several miles to Loop 288, according to TxDOT. The accident was mostly cleared by 9:30 a.m., according to TxDOT.
