DALLAS — A 13-year-old boy in foster care who loves sports is hoping his recent visit to the home of the Dallas Cowboys will lead him to a forever home.
Our Wednesday’s Child, Christopher, is a star and the Dallas Cowboys treated him as such during his recent visit to AT&T Stadium.
When he visited AT&T Stadium, the staff gave Chris a VIP tour complete with stops in Cowboys owner Jerry Jones’ private suite, the print media press box, the Dallas Cowboys locker rooms, and an opportunity to run on the field.
“Makes me happy, makes me joyful,” said Chris about the opportunity to sit in Jerry’s seat. He called it the best seat in the house.
Chris was so excited to run onto the field, he made snow angels.
“It’s a good experience for me!” he said.
Christopher was all smiles during the tour.
“I think his smile is the best thing about him,” said Chris’ caseworker Jesstine Williams. “Anytime I’m with Chris he opens doors for me, at a restaurant or for a car. Anytime we go anywhere, he is the navigator.”
Williams said Chris is polite and a wonderful listener.
“I think it’s very important that he listens and takes in considerations of other people’s thoughts and feelings,” she added.
Chris says he loves his caseworker because she sees his heart and is fighting for the perfect family for him.
“She’s nice. She’s always there for me and she never gives up,” Chris said.
Williams said any family would be blessed to call Chris their son.
“One of the things I want in a family is love. I want a brother, sister, mom, and dad,” Chris said.
Chris says he loves sports, Pokémon and reading.
“I’ve read ‘Harry Potter,’ ‘Percy Jackson’ and sometimes comics,” he said.
“He has a great memory. Any family would be blessed to have him. He loves to go to church,” said Williams.
Chris also believes life is 10% what happens and 90% how we react to it.
“I believe Chris will find his forever home. He has a lot of hope, he is very optimistic, and he is a great listener,” Williams said.
“The one thing in my whole life I just wanted to be adopted and to have a good family with me and somebody that loves me,” said Chris.
