LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) – Spring break is coming up, and parents looking for a fun and safe place for their kids can check out the Imaginarium of South Texas. The hands-on science museum will host a weeklong camp for kids ages 6 to 13.
Nora Murillo, the museum’s executive director, said the camp will be packed with activities.
The camp runs from March 11-15, starting at 8 a.m. each day. Parents can drop off kids as early as 7:30 a.m. and pick them up at 3 p.m. For an extra $10, kids can stay until 5 p.m. The museum will provide a light breakfast and sack lunch, but parents can also send food with their children.
The cost is $150 for museum members and $170 for non-members, with a $10 discount for early sign-ups in the next two weeks. Space is limited to 30 kids.
Activities will include science experiments, arts and crafts, photography, a critter show, field day, and movie day. Stephanie Chavez, the museum’s outreach manager, also introduced Lexi, a four-year-old bearded dragon, to give kids a sneak peek at the live animal encounters.
Parents can call (956) 728-0404 to register. The Imaginarium is located at Laredo College’s Fort McIntosh campus, near the entrance ramp.
