Investigation underway after Dallas officer-involved shooting, police say

 

The shooting took place in the 11000 block of Joaquin Drive, DPD said in an X post.

DALLAS — The Dallas Police Department has launched an investigation into an officer-involved shooting Tuesday afternoon.

The shooting took place in the 11000 block of Joaquin Drive, DPD said in an X post. DPD sources told WFAA a person was waving a gun at motorists and when officers got to the scene, shots were exchanged.

The extent of the officers’ and suspects’ injuries is unclear.

Chopper 8 was flying above the scene just before 4 p.m. showing multiple weapons on the ground, Dallas police taping off the area and closing portions of the roadway.
