FORECAST DETAILS:

Hope you’re having a great weekend and are finding ways to stay cool!

A few isolated storms have managed to develop across portions of South Central Texas Sunday afternoon, providing some areas with pockets of heavy rainfall and gusty winds, along with some lightning and thunder. We’ll keep an isolated chance in the forecast through Sunday evening before the remaining activity winds down later tonight.

High pressure takes over in the coming days, leading to a dry and hot week ahead. That will be the theme Monday as highs reach for the upper 90s/near 100° in the afternoon, feeling closer to 102°-105° thanks to the humidity.

A hot and mainly dry day is expected Monday with highs in the upper 90s in San Antonio.

High temperatures near 100° are expected pretty much each day this week, so take it easy out in the heat! A few isolated rain chances could return to the forecast by next weekend, which is something to check back on in the days ahead.

7 Day Forecast as of 8/4/24.

LATEST ON THE TROPICS:

As of the late Sunday afternoon update from the National Hurricane Center, Tropical Storm Debby continues to move through the eastern Gulf of Mexico. This system is expected to continue moving north, potentially strengthening into a category one hurricane before making landfall near Tallahassee, Florida on Monday.

This system will NOT impact Texas, but is expected to bring heavy rain and flooding issues to Florida over the next few days.

Debby will not impact Texas, but is expected to make landfall in Florida on Monday.

More updates to come! Until then — have a great evening and stay cool! ~ Mia
