JD Vance Wipes the Floor With Liberal Minnesota Rep Dean Phillips Over Floyd Riots, Minneapolis Burning

It’s not often that the selection of a vice presidential candidate has all that much effect on a race, other than sometimes delivering a swing state to the person at the top of the ticket – as Gov. Josh Shapiro might have been able to put Pennsylvania in the Democrat column, had Kamala Harris made the smart choice for her running mate instead of the incomprehensible choice of Tim “Great Walz of China.” But boy howdy, is Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) ever the exception to that rule?

The latest example of this comes from a reporter, Ryan Faircloth, who wrote a story in the Minneapolis Star Tribune about Vance’s visit to Minneapolis and took to X to promote it.

The confrontation began with a story in the Star Tribune that was promoted on X by the reporter who wrote it, Ryan Faircloth. “VP nominee JD Vance visited Minneapolis on Monday and portrayed it as a city in decline, echoing Trump’s comments about Detroit,” Faircloth wrote. “‘The story of Minneapolis is coming to every community across the [U.S.] if we promote Kamala Harris to president,’ Vance said.”

Then Democrat Dean Phillips, who represents Minnesota’s 3rd Congressional District, weighed in – responding (carelessly) to Faircloth’s post and attacking Vance for something Faircloth wrote.

JD Vance wasn’t having it, any more than he ever does from liberal politicians or journalists; the defenestration was quick and efficient.

And that, dear readers, is the way it’s done. Quick, clean, and with surgical precision. It’s becoming JD Vance’s trademark.

Vance’s parting shot even took in not only Phillips, not only Minnesota Governor and running mate Tim “I’d Rather Go Hunting With Dick Cheney” Walz, but he even got in a shot at Kamala Harris.

“If you want to let people burn down cities, harass police officers, and allow violent crime to nearly double, vote for Dean’s buddy Kamala Harris. If you want to support our law enforcement and the people who depend on them for safety, vote for Donald J. Trump,” he said.

Now, correcting Dean Phillips this way is, indeed, the lowest of low-hanging fruit. Not only did Phillips attack Vance for a post made by someone else, but he is ignorant as to what level local law enforcement is managed; the burning and looting in Minneapolis in the Summer of Love was allowed to happen without intervention by the Minneapolis municipal government, with some of the blame (as he oversees the state police and National Guard) being assigned to Governor Tim Walz. So he tried to come after JD Vance for it, and JD slam-dunked him.

So far, every leftist politician, liberal activist, or legacy media member (but I repeat myself) that has taken JD Vance on has come out of the exchange bruised and boo-booed. You’d think they would learn – but, honestly, let’s hope they never do. I don’t know about most folks, but I find JD Vance’s serial defenestrations to be some of the most entertaining aspects of this entire election cycle.
