Podcast giant Joe Rogan lashed out at the nation’s COVID response on his show Monday, and urged all of those who agree to “vote Republican.” The comedian and martial arts fanatic has described himself in the past as a “bleeding heart liberal when it comes to a lot of s*%&,” but it would seem that even he’s had enough of the pandemic insanity and the failed, nonsensical policies at the national and local level.
The wildly popular commentator averages an estimated 11 million listeners per episode.
“I have a friend, and his brother works in the COVID response … in California,” Rogan said. “And, remember when they made a decision to close outdoor dining, and it turned out that one of the people that made that decision, the day she did it, went out and was dining outdoors?”
He was apparently referring to Los Angeles County Supervisor Sheila Kuehl, who famously was caught eating at a restaurant just hours after voting to ban outdoor dining in the city. Kuehl recently further defined her legacy as an out-of-touch, heartless politician by calling those opposed to the forced masking of their children as “snowflake weepies.”
Rogan’s guest for the episode, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, couldn’t resist trashing California Governor Gavin Newsom, also known for his hypocritical behavior: “I thought you meant Gavin Newsom going to French Laundry,” he joked.
Rogan continued:
I’m hoping that, now that this is over, people are going to recognize that some serious errors were made [during the pandemic] and not repeat those. That’s the best you can get out of it.
…as far as compensation for all those people that were forced to close their businesses and keep their doors shuttered and lost everything they’d worked for decades to build. Now they’re … they’re just going to be angry.
Rodgers asked, “so what do you tell those people?” Rogan said simply: “vote Republican.”
Rogan also praised Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who kept his state open despite widespread Democrat criticism, with some leftists even calling him “DeathSantis“:
You look at guys like Ron DeSantis, who kept Florida open and had some pretty reasonable policies in terms of like what to do about COVID … he was widely criticized for this. He was saying we need to protect our elders, we need to make sure that medical care is available for those people — and everyone else should be able to do whatever you want to do. Protect your freedom.
Although Rogan claims he is not a Republican, he’s certainly been speaking like one lately. My colleague Alex Parker reported how on Friday Rogan went off on left-leaning network CNN, claiming that the anchors there “suck at at their job.”
Aaron Rodgers, who was vilified for not getting vaccinated, slammed California’s approach to COVID:
“Joe, they closed the beaches in California. They closed the beaches where I live in California and all around the coast.”
The pair then discussed the paddle-boarder arrested in Malibu for violating the state’s stay-at-home order, with Rodgers joking, “He’s passing COVID to the dolphins or what?”
The quarterback may have been joking, but LA Public Health is doubling down on insanity by now testing pets for COVID. Let the mocking begin.
Although neither Rodgers nor Rogan identify as Republicans, it’s interesting to hear how they’ve been turned off by the insane politics of the Left. I suspect many more have been too, and hopefully they will show up at the ballot box in November.
