I think it’s pretty obvious at this point that Pennsylvania Democratic Senate nominee John Fetterman is seriously bad news for the Keystone State.
As I’ve said before, health issues or not, Fetterman’s taken some highly questionable and in some cases hypocritical positions on the issues, including on his opposition to school choice, his racisty opposition to voter ID, his soft-on-crime positions as well as his wishy-washiness on fracking. And most alarmingly is his belief in abortion on demand for any reason and at any st age of pregnancy.
But for those who still need some convincing that he’s no good for PA, check out what he said in 2020 as the violent Antifa/Black Lives Matter-led riots were raging through Democrat-run cities across the country, via Townhall’s Julio Rosas:
On Sept. 15, after riots broke out in Lancaster, Fetterman criticized a judge for setting bail at one million dollars for rioters charged with felony arson, riot and vandalism charges, among other protest-related charges. The rioters were angry about Lancaster police fatally shooting 27-year-old Ricardo Munoz even though body camera footage showed Munoz charging at the officer with a knife when the officer first reached the scene.
On Oct. 16, Fetterman referred to the 2020 BLM riots as an “uprising” during an appearance on “Pod Save America.”
On Oct. 22, Fetterman called the BLM riots a “reckoning” among the various other historical events that took place during 2020.
Rosas also noted that a search of Fetterman’s lieutenant governor Twitter account showed no instances of him speaking out against the destruction that was taking place in Pennsylvania cities in the aftermath of the officer-involved death of Minneapolis resident George Floyd.
Interestingly enough, Fetterman’s campaign has reportedly started removing mentions of his support for the radical Black Lives Matter movement from their website in what looks to be a clear attempt at covering up his tracks:
Senate candidate John Fetterman, D-Pa., has removed mentions of Black Lives Matter from his campaign website in the last month, a review of archived webpages showed.
The “issues” page on Fetterman’s website currently includes sections on inflation, criminal justice reform, legalizing cannabis, renewable energy, immigration and several other topics, but doesn’t include any section devoted to Black Lives Matter. Archived copies of the page, though, show that as recently as Aug. 22, the same page highlighted Fetterman’s commitment to Black Lives Matter.
“John served as mayor of a city that’s more than 80% Black, and has championed the idea that Black lives matter since long before it became a hashtag,” the previous version of the campaign website stated under a section titled “Black Lives Matter.”
The Fetterman campaign denied to the New York Post any scrubbing of references to BLM was taking place on the website, saying they’d “greatly expanded our issues page weeks ago.” They also claimed they do have a video of him talking about BLM on the website.
Whatever the case may be, Fetterman and his campaign team appear to be aware that the race against his opponent, Republican nominee Mehmet Oz, has tightened up in recent weeks, which is likely one reason why Fetterman “agreed” to a debate though the time he wants for it will come well after millions of Pennsylvanians have already cast their votes.
Regardless of when the debate happens, though, Oz has apparently decided to mash his foot down on the gas pedal, perhaps recognizing that the momentum has shifted to him in this race. That’s not just good news for his campaign, but good news for PA, because the last thing they need is someone as out of touch with PA priorities as John Fetterman has shown himself to be.
