Judson ISD to get new superintendent after Dr. Jeanette Ball’s resignation

SAN ANTONIO – Judson ISD’s Board of Trustees voted unanimously to accept Superintendent Dr. Jeanette Ball’s resignation.

Ball’s contract was supposed to run until January 2025. Judson officials referred to the reason for the motion as personal matters and had no further comment on what led to the resignation

“It comes as a big surprise. A lot of the community wants to know why,” said Chris Pryor, a Judson ISD parent. “She does great things for the kids, great things for the community, and she’ll be missed.”

The Judson ISD Board of Trustees held a special board meeting Monday to discuss the resignation agreement. Board members consulted an attorney and reviewed the resignation agreement before taking action. The meeting was a closed session that lasted more than three hours and was not open to the public.

Ball began the position of superintendent with Judson ISD during the 2018-2019 school year. Before she took the job, she worked as the superintendent at Uvalde CISD.

The resignation agreement includes $140,000 for Ball. While the motion was passed, Judson ISD said the agreement had yet to be finalized.

Deputy Superintendent Dr. Milton Robert Fields is expected to take over as interim superintendent for the district.
