HOUSTON — Patrick Xavier Clark, the man accused of shooting and killing Migos rapper TakeOff, is due in court on Wednesday.
His lawyers are asking for his $2 million bond to be reduced.
Lawyers said they believe the bond amount is “excessive” and want a judge to reduce it to $100,000. If he’s released on bond, Clark’s attorneys said he will agree to GPS monitoring and will appear in court when required.
Prosecutors asked for a higher bond, arguing that Clark is a flight risk. They said he planned to go to Mexico after the shooting .
A judge has allowed $5,000 to pay a private investigator to help prepare Clark’s defense.
On Tuesday, KHOU 11 News Reporter Gerald Harris spoke to Clark at the Harris County Jail.
Clark appeared to be in good health. He complained that the jail phone wasn’t working well and then decided he didn’t want to talk about what happened and walked away.
Clark is charged with murder and is due in court at 9 a.m. Wednesday.
