According to fire officials, no evacuations have been initiated.
DALLAS — A section of Kirnwood Drive has been shut down in Dallas on Wednesday due to a reported gas leak, fire officials said.
According to Dallas Fire-Rescue, crews responded to the gas leak around 2:51 p.m. after a construction crew hit a large natural gas line near the intersection of South Hampton Road and East Kirnwood Drive.
DFR said a worker ran over to Fire Station 40 to report the incident. The HazMat team was notified, responded to the scene and determined it to be a six-inch gas line actively flowing, DFR said.
According to Dallas Fire-Rescue, Atmos Energy has been notified and a section of Kirnwood Road, from South Hampton Road to Los Gatos Drive, has been shut down.
DFR said while there is a church in the nearby area, no evacuations have been initiated because of the leak.
