LABOR DAY: Spotty downpours expected, but not a washout

FORECAST HIGHLIGHTS:
  • – Hit-or-miss rain expected on Labor Day, but it won’t be continuous
  • – Don’t cancel your plans, but have a backup, indoor option to wait out a storm or two, especially west of I-35
  • – Scattered rain chance again Tuesday, becoming more isolated later this week
  • – High temperatures slightly below average: closer to 90°
FORECAST:

Hope you’re having a great holiday weekend!

Plans for Labor Day? Know that it won’t be a washout of a day, but hit-or-miss downpours are likely to develop again, especially in the afternoon and evening hours. Best odds are still pointed along and west of the I-35 corridor, so don’t cancel your plans, but have that indoor option available should you need to duck inside for a few!

Other than that, highs will aim for 90° Monday afternoon with winds out of the northeast at 5 to 15 mph.

Not a washout of a day, but hit-or-miss downpours are possible into the afternoon and evening.

A weak frontal boundary over Texas combined with additional moisture and upper level energy is expected to spark up a slightly better chance for scattered rain on Tuesday with high temperature still cooler than average.

Rain chances will become more isolated into the second half of the week as we start to dry things out again into next weekend.

More updates to come in the days ahead. Until then — have a great and safe Labor Day! ~ Mia
