Lane closures are slowing down Frisco drivers this week

FRISCO, Texas — Lane closures are slowing traffic this week in Frisco. Crews are hard at work on the Dallas North Tollway (DNT) widening project, which means they’ll be pouring pavement, erecting walls and building barriers.

Drivers should prepare for detours as lane and ramp closures are set to take place through March 15.

Continuous Ramp Closures:

Northbound Exit Ramp to Panther Creek Parkway: This ramp will remain closed through March 14 to facilitate construction activities.

Southbound Exit Ramp to SH 121/Headquarters Drive: This exit ramp will be closed continuously throughout the week.

Northbound Entrance Ramp at SH 121: The entrance ramp to northbound DNT from SH 121 will also be closed continuously during this period.

Daily Lane Closures (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.):

Northbound and Southbound Left Lanes between Gaylord Parkway and Cotton Gin Road: Intermittent closures of the left lanes in both directions will occur daily to accommodate construction work.

Southbound Right Lane from PGA Parkway to Panther Creek Parkway: The right lane on the southbound side will experience daily closures within the specified timeframe.

Nightly Lane Closures (7 p.m. to 5 a.m.):

Two Left Lanes in Both Directions between Gaylord Parkway and Cotton Gin Road: Nightly closures of the two left lanes in both northbound and southbound directions are scheduled to facilitate ongoing construction.

It’s all part of a larger initiative launched by the North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) to accommodate increasing traffic demands by widening the DNT and improving overall traffic flow. The primary goal of the project is to add a fourth lane in each direction between the Sam Rayburn Tollway (SRT)/SH 121 and US 380 in Frisco.

The work is expected to be completed by late 2025.
