‘Largely Irrelevant’: Byron Donalds Brings the Fire After Hillary Clinton Insults Trump Supporters

As RedState reported Wednesday, Hillary Clinton sat down for an interview with – fittingly enough – Crooked Media’s “Pod Save America” hosts (former Obama officials), and as per the norm, her target was former President Donald Trump.

Clinton, unsurprisingly, has made it clear that she couldn’t be more excited about the 2024 GOP presidential candidate’s second indictment in two months, even pushing sales of her “But Her Emails” hat in an especially brazen move considering how she escaped punishment over the private email server scandal, something she should have served time over.

But during the podcast, Clinton – infamous for once calling 50 percent of Trump’s supporters “deplorables” in 2016 – again took aim at Trump’s legion of fans, referring to them as a “cult” at one point.

“The response that we’ve seen in polling from Republicans suggests that they’re gonna stick with him, that it’s more of a cult than a political party at this point and they’re going to stick with their leader,” she proclaimed.

In May, the twice-failed Democratic presidential candidate referred to Trump as a “cult leader.”

Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.), who has endorsed Trump’s presidential campaign, was asked during a Fox Business appearance about Clinton’s remarks, and his response was chef’s kiss perfection:

“I stopped caring about what Hillary Clinton had to say long ago, because she lost a long, long time ago. And she’s largely irrelevant as far as I’m concerned. But to a broader level since Hillary wants to engage, allow me to engage.

Hillary, you lied multiple times, you destroyed emails, you destroyed evidence and then you laundered phony information that you knew was phony into the intelligence community because you were scared you were going to lose. You did all this and you still lost! So, I’m not going to listen to Hillary Clinton about who I should and should not support.

Because she has lied to the American people repeatedly. She used our institutions to spy on her rival’s campaign. Yes, America, she did that. So if people like talking about Watergate and Nixon, look no further than Hillary Clinton and Crossfire Hurricane.”

Watch:

Trump of course is not the only presidential contender on the Republican side at who Hillary Clinton has tried to take swipes. She landed in hot water in May after she declared in a tweet that “Ron DeSantis’s ultra-MAGA Florida isn’t safe for people of color, LGBTQ+ people, or even multi-billion dollar corporations.”

She was promptly fact-checked, with people pointing out that minority communities in Florida are actually doing very well under DeSantis’ leadership, as even CNN pointed out during a back and forth exchange with NAACP president Derrick Johnson on the group’s “travel advisory” for Florida that same day.

Beyond that, though, were Clinton’s rather curious comments about Florida supposedly not being “safe” – not for “even multi-billion dollar corporations.” I mean this was Hillary Clinton, Queen of targeting her political enemies with what some have described as lethal precision, going full-blown corporatist like never before and really telling on herself in the process, as she often does.

In any event, good on Donalds for further emphasizing the point about how Hillary Clinton lost in 2016 despite everything she and her campaign tried to do to win, the two-tiered system of justice in this country, the double standards at play, and for reminding people including Clinton herself that for all her bluster and the back pats she gets from the usual corners, Clinton is a largely irrelevant side player in American politics at this point.
