LIST: DFW-area teachers being investigated by TEA for potential teacher certification fraud

Over 150 teachers statewide are being investigated and more than half of those are in North Texas.

DALLAS — More than 150 educators in Texas are being investigated by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) for potentially getting their certifications through fraudulent means.

The TEA opened the investigation in December 2024 after Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg announced a massive criminal cheating scheme based in Houston earlier in the year. Numerous North Texas school districts are impacted by the TEA probe, including Dallas ISD and Fort Worth ISD, as well as Arlington ISD, Irving ISD, Richardson ISD, Mansfield ISD, Duncanville ISD, among others

Of those being investigated statewide, more than half are in North Texas. WFAA is keeping a list of how many teachers in this probe from North Texas.

*Important note: The district associated with this educator does not mean that is their current place of employment. Based off the latest info, that was their place of employment at the end of either the 22-23 school year or the 23-24 school year.*
