AUSTIN (KXAN) — It’s Election Day in Texas for the presidential and state primaries. On Tuesday, voters will choose which candidates will represent the Democratic and Republican parties on the ballot in November’s general election.
More than 17.9 million Texans are currently registered to vote, according to the Secretary of State’s office.
After early voting, more than 1.8 million votes have been cast, for a statewide turnout of 10.16%. Of all votes, about 67% have been in the Republican primary, while 33% have been in the Democratic primary.
Polls close at 7 p.m. in Texas. This live blog will be updated with new Election Day information.
