LIVE SCORE UPDATES: Arkansas vs. Texas A&M Baseball Game 3

Texas A&M 14, Arkansas 4 — FINAL (7 Innings)

Gavin Grahovac’s two-run home run to left put the Aggies one run from ending the game early.

Ryan Targac, a fan favorite who has not played a lot this season, ended the game with a pinch-hit RBI single.

Arkansas’ regular season ends with a 43-12 record and 20-10 SEC record.

Game story soon.

Texas A&M 11, Arkansas 4 — Middle 7th Inning

Zane Badmaev retired the Razorbacks in order in the top of the seventh.

We are in run-rule territory here. If the Aggies score three in this inning the game will be over.

Texas A&M 11, Arkansas 4 — End 6th Inning

The bubbles flowed during a six-run inning by the Aggies.

It began with a single, double, run-scoring wild pitch and walk by Ben Bybee.

Stone Hewlett entered and it did not go much better. He walked two, threw another run-scoring wild pitch, then gave up a bases-clearing double to Ted Burton.

Dylan Carter entered with a runner in scoring position and one out and allowed another RBI hit. A base-running mistake helped the Razorbacks before an inning-ending fly out.

Dave Van Horn was not happy with first base umpire Tyler Simpson during the pitching change from Bybee to Hewlett. They exchanged some words and plate umpire Hank Himmanen intervened. It looked like Van Horn might get ejected, but he was given some rope and went back to the dugout.

Texas A&M 5, Arkansas 4 — Middle 6th Inning

Chris Cortez is mowing down Arkansas’ batters. He struck out the side in the sixth to give him eight strikeouts in three innings.

The Razorbacks simply cannot solve his slider.

Texas A&M 5, Arkansas 4 — End 5th Inning

Ben Bybee has thrown 2 1/3 innings of scoreless relief. He worked around a two-out single in the fifth.

Ben McLaughlin to strand the bases loaded in the top of the fifth.

Arkansas loaded them when Chris Cortez walked Kendall Diggs and Hudson White and hit Peyton Stovall in the foot.

Ben Bybee worked around a one-out walk to Gavin Grahovac in the fourth inning. He recorded Jace LaViolette on a fly out before Braden Montgomery grounded into a fielder’s choice to end the inning.

Texas A&M 5, Arkansas 4 — Middle 4th Inning

After a leadoff walk to Ben McLaughlin, Chris Cortez struck out three in a row to strand the runner.

The right-handed Cortez got swinging strike threes from Ryder Helfrick, Peyton Holt and Ty Wilmsmeyer, all on sliders.

Texas A&M 5, Arkansas 4 — End 3rd Inning

We are having a home run derby at Olsen Field.

Braden Montgomery led off the bottom of the third with a shot to right field against Cooper Dossett to give the Aggies the lead again. They teams have combined for five home runs and the game isn’t three innings old.

The Razorbacks made a pitching change with two outs. Dossett threw four consecutive balls before trainer Corey Wood and pitching coach Matt Hobbs came to check on him. He left the field with Wood.

A double by Ali Camarillo put two in scoring position, but Ben Bybee got an inning-ending ground out to strand a pair.

Arkansas 4, Texas A&M 4 — Middle 3rd Inning

Wehiwa Aloy crushed a two-strike, two-out pitch to left field for a three-run home run that has tied the game. It went 360 feet.

It scored Ty Wilmsmeyer (leadoff) and Jared Sprague-Lott (single). Texas A&M shortstop Ali Camarillo made a great spinning throw to rob Peyton Stovall of another single.

The half inning ended with a strikeout looking by Hudson White.

Both teams have homered twice today.

Texas A&M 4, Arkansas 1 — End 2nd Inning

After a leadoff single, Caden Sorrell hit a two-run home run to left field. It looks like a fly out off the bat, but the winds have shifted and the ball is really carrying today. It was measured 359 feet, 96 mph off the bat.

McEntire allowed another single and that will be the end of the road for him this weekend. Cooper Dossett recorded two quick outs against the top of the Aggies’ lineup to get the Razorbacks back into the dugout.

Texas A&M 2, Arkansas 1 — Middle 2nd Inning

Hudson White homered for the fifth time in eight games with a one-out shot to left-center field. It was estimated at 405 feet.

Texas A&M 2, Arkansas 0 — End 1st Inning

Jace LaViolette’s 28th home run of the year was a towering 394-foot shot to right field against Will McEntire. It had an exit velocity of 105 mph.

It followed a leadoff walk to give the Aggies their second two-run home run in the first inning in as many games.

The Texas A&M fans did not forget McEntire’s walk to end Thursday’s game. He was greeted with the infamous “ball five” chant as he took the mound.

McEntire retired the next three batters. He threw 25 pitches in the inning. Remember he is on a low pitch count today.

Arkansas 0, Texas A&M 0 — Middle 1st Inning

Jared Sprague-Lott drew a seven-pitch walk with one out, but he was called out on a quick pick throw to first by Shane Sdao.

Arkansas challenged the call and replay appeared to show Sprague-Lott made it back to the bag safely, but it was upheld for the second out.

Peyton Stovall struck out to end the half inning.

Pregame

It is a long, hot, summer-like day in Central Texas.

The sun is shining and the humidity is high in Aggieland as Arkansas and Texas A&M prepare to play the rubber match of their three-game series. Expect a high of around 90 degrees today.

The series win is all that is left to play for today after the Razorbacks clinched the SEC West with a 6-3 win last night. Both teams have their seeds locked up for next week’s SEC Tournament.

Arkansas is going to give Will McEntire a short start today. Don’t expect the right-hander to go more than about two innings.

Texas A&M will throw lefty Shane Sdao, who has been a trusted weekend starter this season.

The Razorbacks will keep a lineup similar to the one that hit well last night. Here is how it will look:

RF Kendall Diggs

3B Jared Sprague-Lott

2B Peyton Stovall

SS Wehiwa Aloy

DH Hudson White

1B Ben McLaughlin

C Ryder Helfrick

LF Peyton Holt

CF Ty Wilmsmeyer

RHP Will McEntire
