Before we begin, it’s important to understand the collective mindset of the Democrat Party.
Consider any number of issues, from border security to presidential elections, and the same old tactics can be found in the Democrat playbook. When Democrats can’t win when playing by the rules, their first inclination is to cheat. When cheating doesn’t get the job done, they do their damnedest to change to rules.
The intentional Biden Border Crisis is a quintessential example, as was the 2016 presidential election.
Hillary Clinton won the popular vote by roughly 2.8 million votes, while Donald Trump won the Electoral College (EC) vote 304 to 227. The Democrats squealed, with Hillary as the hood ornament, that the EC was “outdated,” “unfair,” “undemocratic,” and other such nonsense and promptly called for its demise.
That was never going to happen, of course, so by the time 2020 rolled around, Democrats around the country had continued to change election laws in favor of Democrat candidates, with lax mail-in ballot laws, opposition to voter ID laws, and other such nonsense. So here’s the first bottom line:
Democrats don’t want to make it easier to vote; they want to make it easier to cheat.
This raises a salient question: What do the majority of voters think about all of the above? Glad you asked.
In the aftermath of the 2020 presidential election and subsequent concerns about voter and election fraud, conservatives across America have called for tighter laws to ensure the security of future elections.
As a result, states across the country are enacting election integrity reforms, including voter ID laws, prohibiting so-called “ballot harvesting ,” and ensuring that non-citizens — including illegal aliens — can’t vote in elections. The fact that the latter is even an issue perfectly illustrates my observation that Democrats will cheat or change every rule they can get away with changing until they achieve their desired results.
So while the Democrat Party continues to scream “Racism!” at every attempt to enact stricter voter ID laws that comes down the pike, there’s just one problem: According to a recent poll by the Honest Elections Project, 88 percent of registered voters support photo ID laws.
Racist? Hardly.
A 2021 Rasmussen Reports poll found that 69 percent of Black voters and 82 percent of non-white minorities support voter ID.
According to the survey, support for voter ID laws has actually increased since 2018, when 67 percent of respondents said voters should be required to provide a photo ID, such as a driver’s license, before being allowed to vote. Moreover, the survey found that while 89 percent of Republicans support voter ID requirements, 60 percent of Democrat voters also support such laws, as do 77 percent of independent voters. (The Democrat Party was unavailable for comment.)
The Honest Election Project survey also found:
Americans reject left-wing mail voting policies.
Left-wing activists demand all-mail elections, permanent mail voting lists, vote trafficking, and deadlines that let mail ballots come in days or weeks after Election Day. Americans embrace none of these goals.
o 76% of Americans think that voting in person is better than voting by mail.
o 73% reject automatically sending ballots without a voter’s request.
o 74% think that vote trafficking (harvesting) should be illegal.
o 89% believe every ballot should be received by Election Day. Americans support limiting mail voting in favor of early in-person voting.
o 66% of Americans support ending no-excuse mail voting as long as states offer two weeks of early in-person voting, including weekends.
o 55% of Black and 69% of Hispanic voters support limiting mail voting to military service members, senior citizens, disabled voters, and citizens who will be absent on Election Day.
A strong majority of voters also oppose the current insane state of mail-in ballots across the country.
Americans embrace two weeks or less of early in-person voting.
o 78% of Americans believe states should offer 14 days or less of early in-person voting.
o 52% support just seven days or less of early voting.
o 59% of Black and 59% of Hispanic voters support just seven days or less of early in-person voting.
o 57% of Democrats agree.
o Just 13% of Americans embrace the progressive position that early voting should begin more than a month before Election Day.
Get the picture?
The Bottom Line
While Democrat lawmakers and their lapdog media wingmen continue to play the race card at every attempt to return even a semblance of integrity to U.S. elections, voters of all stripes, political beliefs, and skin colors strongly reject lax, easy-to-cheat Democrat-passed laws.
