Police responded to a stabbing call in Alvarado Thursday, officials said.
ALVARADO, Texas — Two women were stabbed and hospitalized Thursday, Alvarado police said.
Officers responded to a stabbing call around 10:45 p.m. Thursday in the 5600 block of US Highway 67 in Alvarado, police said in a press release.
Police found that two women were stabbed, according to the release. Both women were transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, officials said. Both victims are stabilized and recovering, police said.
The suspect fled the scene and was arrested with the help of other local agencies, police said. The victim was later identified as Leonardo Morales, the release states.
Morales is currently held on $2 million bond in the Johnson County Jail, police said. He is charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one charge is considered family violence, police said.
Police are investigating the incident and believe it was an isolated incident.
