Police arrested Zerick Lamon Jones for arson after he set fire to his apartment complex, Dallas Fire-Rescue confirmed.
DALLAS — Police arrested and charged a man with setting fire to the apartment complex he lived in, officials say.
According to Dallas Fire-Rescue, 51-year-old Zerick Lamon Jones intentionally set a fire at the Koko Apartments at 2209 Empire Central Place. Jones was a resident at the complex, per DFR.
The department said fire crews responded to the fire around noon Sunday and immediately deployed hand lines to extinguish a fire on the second floor. After an hour, crews declared the fire out, but seven other apartments sustained smoke and/or water damage, DFR said.
Four residents were displaced, DFR said, but the complex was able to accommodate them with vacant units. The department said police arrested and charged Jones with arson.
