SAN ANTONIO – An employee for a Toyota subcontractor has been arrested after police said he threatened to shoot up his workplace earlier this week.
Kevin Louis Kresta, 51, was booked on Wednesday and charged with terroristic threat causing public fear, a third-degree felony, records with the Bexar County Jail show.
An arrest warrant affidavit states that Kresta made multiple threats to coworkers on Tuesday.
Kresta was in his second week of training at Hero, a Toyota subc ontractor, and previously worked with his roommate at another subcontractor at the same facility.
Police said that on Tuesday, Kresta arrived at work and appeared in a “depressed state.” He said he was upset with his roommate, who still works for the other company.
When Kresta saw his roommate at work, he said “If I still worked at his old job, I would have shot someone,” the affidavit states.
Coworkers told police that Kresta shifted his frustrations to other coworkers, accusing them of “poisoning” his Gatorade and changing the tire pressure in his cart, police said.
The affidavit states that he told his coworkers, “If I’m not here tomorrow I’ll be buying a gun.”
The coworkers said they wanted to report the threats but couldn’t because Kresta was present, and they were afraid of his reaction.
The following day, when Kresta failed to show up to work, they told their managers.
The workplace added security and searched for the suspect on the property, but didn’t find him.
Records show he was booked late Wednesday and his bond is set at $40,000.
