GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas — A man has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in Grand Prairie on Tuesday.
The Grand Prairie Police Department said officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 400 block of E Palace Parkway and discovered a man suffering from a gunshot wound.
Grand Prairie PD said the suspect and victim knew each other and got into an altercation that escalated resulting in the victim being shot.
The victim was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later. His identity will be released by the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Police located the suspect near the scene and was arrested by officers. He was identified as 20-year-old Zahrek Patton of Fort Worth.
Patton is currently being held at the Grand Prairie Detention Center on a murder charge with a bond set at $1 million, according to police.
