A 23 year old was arrested on a murder complaint this week for the October 2023 shooting, police say.

DALLAS — Dallas police say they’ve arrested a 23 year old on a murder complaint nearly a year after a man was fatally shot while trying to stop a robbery in the area of Big T Plaza.

Forney Police arrested Adrion Brown, 23, in connection with the shooting death of Quentin Gellington, 38, in October 2023 in the 4500 block of Village Fair Drive.

Police at the time said Gellington was shot after he stepped in to stop a robbery and a 31-year-old woman, who was reportedly not involved in the incident, was also shot.

Gellington was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, and the woman was treated and released from the hospital, according to police.

Police released about 10 seconds of video footagefrom the scene in the weeks after the shooting. The video showed two men pointing objects at a white car.

It’s unclear whether or not Brown is believed to be one of the people in the video or what led up to Brown’s arrest. No other information was immediately available.
