Man drowned in pond in North Texas, officials say

 

A witness reported a man jumped into a pond in the 2900 block of south State Highway 161 in Grand Prairie Saturday and didn’t resurface, according to fire officials.

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas — A man drowned after jumping into a pond in Grand Prairie late Saturday, officials say.

A witness reported that a man was seen jumping into the pond around 10:30 p.m. in the 2900 block of south State Highway 161, where he didn’t resurface, fire officials say.

The Grand Prairie Public Safety Dive Team searched the pond and recovered the body of the 35-year-old man, officials say.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the man as Jordan Robinson, of Louisiana.

No other details were immediately available.
