Man, woman found dead in apparent murder-suicide in Shavano Park identified

  

SHAVANO PARK, Texas – The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the man and woman found dead inside a home in an apparent murder-suicide Wednesday morning.

The office identified them as 61-year-old Jerry Hernandez and 52-year-old Sonia Hernandez.

According to the Medical Examiner’s office, Sonia died by suicide. Jerry’s death was ruled a homicide.

Bill Hill, Shavano Park city manager, said the shooting happened before 8 a.m. before police responded to the 100 block of Cinnamon Oak.

Upon arrival, officers found Jerry Hernandez and Sonia Hernandez dead inside the home.

Police said they are not looking for anyone else involved in the incident.

No other details about the incident were immediately available.

In a statement to KSAT, Davis Law Firm confirmed Jerry Hernandez as one of their attorneys.

“We were deeply saddened to learn of the sudden passing of our colleague, Jerry Hernandez, and our deepest sympathies are with the Hernandez family during this incredibly difficult time,” the statement said. “We are still awaiting details, as this unexpected loss came as a shock. As we take time to process this news, our priority will be to offer support as we cope with this tragic loss together.”
