AZLE, Texas — The body of a man, who officials initially believe drowned, was recovered from Eagle Mountain Lake on Monday.
The Tarrant Regional Water District says TRWD officer and Game Wardens with Texas Parks and Wildlife were called to the lake to search for the man in his mid-30s on Saturday evening near Schooner Drive. There were reports of a man seen jumping out of a “broken-down watercraft” on the lake that did not resurface.
The identity of the man will be released by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner.
Eagle Mountain Lake is located in northwest Tarrant County and parts of southern Wise County.
This is the second drowning search in North Texas recently. Last week, a 60-year-old man drowned in Lake Grapevine after diving into the lake and not resurfacing.
In late June, a boat passenger Saturday fell overboard at Eagle Mountain Lake. The boat driver reversed and the propellers struck the man, severely wounding him. Game Wardens arrested the female boat operator for boating while intoxicated.
In Kaufman County, officials found the body of a missing kayaker on June 24 in the Trinity River near Crandall.
