The Flower Mound Town Council approved a zoning change greenlighting the coffee shop on Monday.
FLOWER MOUND, Texas — A new, Texas-based coffee shop is opening a new location in Denton County.
The Flower Mound Town Council Monday approved a zoning change to allow for a new Marty B’s Coffee shop at the corner of FM 2499 and Lakeside Parkway. The shop will also have a double drive-through.
Marty B’s Coffee was started by restauranteurs Marty Bryan and Brian Gasperson in Bartonville in Denton County.
“Our purpose is to be able to create spaces for people to come together, connect with their friends and family and celebrate life,” Bryan said. “We did go to great measures, we spared no expense on the way we designed the space. It was really modeled after the Drover Hotel down in Fort Worth.”
The Flower Mound Town Council approved the zoning for the new coffee shop on Monday.
Some city council members had expressed concerns about traffic, particularly at the drive-through lanes, and parking. Some town council members also said they felt the shop didn’t properly utilize greenspace to the west of the coffee shop.
“I like this project; I like it in this location. I do share the concerns that we’re not utilizing the green space. I also understand there’s just limitations to that spot of land,” said Flower Mound town council member Brian Taylor.
A town council asked Bryan about considering going from a two-lane drive-through to a single-lane drive-through, which he said he’d be open to but would restrict the growth of his business.
Flower Mound’s planning and zoning commission recommended approval of the zoning change earlier this month.
