The Mavericks gave injury updates for all of their injured big men on Friday.
DALLAS — The Dallas Mavericks have re-evaluated Anthony Davis’ injury progress and said Friday that he “is improving daily and has therefore been cleared for more dynamic on-court movements.”
This new update on Davis’ recovery came two weeks after the previous update, where the team simply said he was “making good progress.”
On Feb. 9, it was reported that Davis’ left adductor strain would keep him out “multiple weeks,” adding to his lengthy injury. Prior to this season, Davis missed 232 of his 1,010 games on an NBA roster (nearly 23% of his career).
The Mavs said Davis, along with Dereck Lively II, who is rehabbing a right ankle stress fracture, will be “evaluated weekly with relevant updates to their status provided, as appropriate.”
Lively has missed the last 23 games with the ankle injury and progressed to individual court work.
Mavericks center Daniel Gafford, who has missed the last nine games due to a right knee sprain, is showing progress and will be evaluated again in two weeks, the team also said.
