In January, the Dallas Business Journal reported that half of the CosMc’s locations in Texas were closing.
ALLEN, Texas — McDonald’s is opening another one of its beverage-centric CosMc’s location in North Texas, which marks the seventh in the Lone Star State and fifth in the DFW Metroplex since they began in 2024.
However, three of seven Texas locations are set to close already, the fast food chain announced on Jan. 9, per the Dallas Business Journal. CosMc’s first came to DFW in March 2024 with its location on Preston Road in North Dallas. Then, McDonald’s opened more locations in Watauga, Arlington and Fort Worth.
The other two Texas locations are in San Antonio.
McDonald’s did not say which three Texas locations would be closing.
The CosMc’s menu focuses on coffee, lemonades, tea, slushies and energy drinks, but you can still get food items like McDonald’s Egg McMuffin, the M&M McFlurry and other snack size bites.
On Saturday, Feb. 15, CosMc’s will open in Allen at 861 W. Stacy Road, next to Crumbl and MOD Pizza. It will be open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
To celebrate the opening of the Allen restaurant, they’ll be rolling out new Churro-flavored beverages: churro cold brew, churro latte and churro shaken espresso.
