Members of California fire crew injured in major crash on I-20 near Texas-Louisiana state line en route to help hurricane victims

   

According to The Times of San Diego, three members of the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department were injured in the crash.

LOUISIANA, USA — A hurricane relief crew headed to North Carolina from California was involved in a major crash Sunday morning near the Texas-Louisiana border along Interstate 20.

According to The Times of San Diego, three members of the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department were injured in the crash.

“There was one battalion chief and two captains that were injured. All three of them are in various conditions ranging from moderate to critical,” Asst. Fire Chief of Emergency Operations James Gaboury said.

He said that they were flown by air ambulance to Ochsner LSU Health. Their names have not yet been released pending family notification.
