Middle school teacher arrested for sending explicit messages to student, SAPD says

SAN ANTONIO – A middle school teacher was arrested Thursday after he was caught sending explicit messages, photos and videos to a 14-year-old student, according to San Antonio police.

Lloyd Pegues, 49, was charged with online solicitation of a minor, a second-degree felony.

The charge stems from June 2022, when the student’s parents found the text messages, images and videos on her phone.

Authorities said the messages were part of a conversation that was “sexual in nature,” prompting the student’s parents to file a police report.

SAPD’s Human Exploitation Unit found further evidence and arrested Pegues without incident. He was later taken to the Bexar County Jail.

The name of the school where Pegues is employed hasn’t been released as of yet.

No other victims have been reported, but police are urging anyone who may have more information on the case, or who may have fallen victim, to come forward and call SAPD’s Human Exploitation Unit at 210-207-2370.
