Miguelito’s Restaurant to close, reopen with new leadership after 28 years

The owner announced the move on Facebook. A farewell celebration will be held Aug. 31 to celebrate 28 years.

HURST, Texas — After 28 years of serving North Texas residents in Hurst, Miguelito’s Mexican Restaurant will close and be sold to new owners, according to the restaurant’s Facebook.

In a statement on Facebook, the owner announced the restaurant will officially close on September 1 and transition to new ownership.

“On behalf of myself, my family and staff we would like to thank each and everyone for their support and allowing us to serve you for 28 years,” the post, signed by Gabby Nevares, reads. “My children, family, and staff truly enjoyed serving you throughout the years, but most rewarding was the families and friendships we built with all of you.”

The Nevares family opened the restaurant in 1996. Nevares cited family as a primary reason for the departure.

“Having 5 adult children, some living across the country, 6 grandchildren and 1 on the way, after some time of prayer, God’s timing couldn’t be more perfect,” Nevares wrote. “My family and I are looking forward to spending more time together.”

According to the post, the restaurant will be holding a farewell celebration on Aug. 31 to “celebrate the memories we’ve built together.”

The statement did not reveal who the new owners are or what the new venture will look like.
