Moore to the Point – Maryellen and the Whistleblowers

It was just a little over a year ago that we first heard of IRS whistleblower Gary Shapley, who came forward to expose irregularities in the agency’s investigation into Hunter Biden’s unfiled and delinquent tax returns. Not long after Shapley sat for an on-the-record interview with the House Ways and Means Committee, he and fellow whistleblower Joseph Zeigler formally testified before the Oversight Committee. 

Just a few days later, Delaware U.S. District Judge Maryellen Noreika raised questions about the “sweetheart plea deal” on tax and gun charges that Hunter and his father’s Department of Justice were on the brink of finalizing — a deal that would have given the First Son global immunity. And then it all blew up.

Attorney General Merrick Garland belatedly appointed Special Counsel David Weiss (who’d previously seemed less than enthused about prosecuting Hunter), gun charges were formally filed in the Delaware case, and tax evasion charges were formally filed in California. And on Tuesday, a jury from the Bidens’ own backyard found Hunter guilty on all three gun-related charges, thanks, in no small part, to his notorious “laptop from hell” — the one that wasn’t just a “Russian information operation,” after all. 

And, of course, thanks to Maryellen and the whistleblowers. It’s thanks to them that we now know two things: 1) The laptop and its salacious content are real, and 2) there are people in and around our federal government who will stop at nothing to preserve their power.
