Cleveland-based apartment builder NRP Group is breaking ground this week on its Mountain Creek apartment community in Southwest Dallas.
A developer that just purchased part of a large building site in Southwest Dallas is planning a ground breaking later this week.
Cleveland-based apartment builder NRP Group, one of the country’s top apartment builders, plans a formal construction start on Thursday for its Ascent at Mountain Creek rental community.
The apartment project is being built on part of a 30-acre site that NRP acquired near the northwest corner of Interstate 20 and Spur 408 in the Mountain Creek development.
The project is being built at 4868 S. Merrifield Road.
“Ascent at Mountain Creek, a 324-unit mixed-income multifamily community just 15 minutes outside downtown Dallas, will comprise 14 three-story, wood-frame residential buildings offering a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments,” according to NPR Group. “The community is also surrounded by rolling hills, lush forests, and hiking trails, a rarity in the Dallas-Fort Worth market.”
Founded in 1994, NRP has developed more than 50,000 apartment homes nationwide.
The apartment builder acquired the Southwest Dallas development site from longtime Mountain Creek landowner Courtland Group.
Along with NRP Group’s purchase, Village West Dallas Development LLC, which is managed by Austin-based Houston Capital Management, acquired the adjoining 430 acres for future development.
The properties are the largest undeveloped portion of the Mountain Creek development which dates back to the 1980s.
Davidson & Bogel Real Estate handled the sale of the properties.
NPR Group owns and manages multiple North Texas apartment communities.
The D-FW area is the country’s fastest growing apartment market with more than 65,000 units under construction.
