AUSTIN (KXAN) — A local pig and a blind dog went on the adventure of a lifetime this weekend, as Austin Animal Protection officers rescued the duo after they went missing for a day.
Peppa the pig and Amy the blind dog trekked along State Hwy. 290, with Peppa leading the two to a general store in the Harris Branch neighborhood, Austin Animal Center said in a Facebook post over the weekend.
Animal Protection officers found the two and were able to reunite them with their owner after receiving tips from community members — and the two stuck the journey out together.
“Through it all, Peppa never once left Amy’s side,” Austin Animal Center wrote. “We’re so glad they’re back home safe!”
