Murder suspect arrested after sneaking across Mexico border into Texas

   

  • Leo Acosta Sanchez was wanted by Interpol for her alleged crimes 
  • She was identified at a routine traffic check stop by Splendora Police 

A fugitive murder suspect cried when she was captured after she illegally crossed the Mexican border into Texas while on the run from the law.

Leo Acosta Sanchez was taken in at a traffic stop on May 24 by the Splendora Police Department. 

The accused – who was on Interpol‘s wanted list – was identified by cops while she was driving a car and subsequently pulled over. 

Officials said Sanchez had been illegally residing in Splendora, Texas and would travel to her residence in Terrenos.

She is now facing charges related to the alleged crimes committed, according to police. 

The Department released a statement about Sanchez’s arrest and said they worked with Homeland Security to arrest her. 

‘Splendora Police, in coordination with Federal Law Enforcement Partners, successfully apprehended a fugitive murder suspect wanted by Interpol. The suspect, who had been illegally residing in our state and country, was known to travel between the City and her residence in Terrenos.

During a routine patrol, vigilant Splendora Police officers identified the wanted individual behind the wheel of a vehicle and promptly called for backup.

She is now facing charges related to the crimes she is suspected of committing, according to police

‘Following the arrival of additional units, a traffic stop was conducted, leading to the immediate arrest of the driver, identified as Leo Acosta Sanchez.

In a joint effort with the Department of Homeland Security, Mrs. Sanchez was taken into custody to face charges related to the alleged crimes committed.   

‘Splendora Police commends the swift and effective collaboration with our Federal partners in ensuring the apprehension of this dangerous individual.’ 

The department also posted photos of Sanchez handcuffed and sitting in the back of a police car. 

Officials have not yet clarified what crimes Sanchez has allegedly committed or what charges she is facing as of now.
