NBC 5 Forecast: More showers and storms, possible severe weather and flooding
Heavy rain and severe storms possible
North Texas will be in a rather active weather pattern for rain and thunderstorms over the next few days. There will be periods of strong to severe thunderstorms along with times of heavy rainfall. There will also be some times of dry weather.
Rain chances continue into Friday and Saturday. While there will likely be some dry hours Friday, the chance of showers and storms will remain throughout the day. Severe storms are possible Friday afternoon especially for areas east of DFW. All modes of severe weather will be possible across East Texas Friday afternoon and evening. Be weather aware if you plan on being in East Texas.
WATCH HEREWidespread rain and a few thunderstorms are likely Friday night into Saturday. The rain will be heavy at times and some flooding is possible. The rain will diminish by early afternoon on Saturday, but it will be breezy and quite cool.
Drier and cooler weather will return by Sunday. Next week looks dry and pleasant with temperatures gradually returning to the 70s and 80s.
