Netflix hits 65M concurrent streams during Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight

Netflix and MVP said the event peaked at 65 million concurrent streams.

ARLINGTON, Texas — Buffering or not — it was a historic night for Netflix and Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), who put on a huge matchup between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson at AT&T Stadium.

According to MVP, 60 million households tuned in live Saturday night to watch the main event and nearly 50 million watched Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano 2, likely etching them as the most-watched professional women’s sporting event in U.S. history.

Paul vs. Tyson peaked at 65 million concurrent streams worldwide, MVP said in a press release.

According to MVP, Joe Hand Promotions distributed the event to over 6,000 bars and restaurants around the country, setting a record for commercial distribution of a combat sports event in the company’s 50-plus-year history.

MVP said the event also broke gate records, surpassing $18 million, which is double the previous Texas gate record for combat sports ($9 million) and the biggest boxing gate outside of Las Vegas in U.S. history.

Social media buzz was equally monumental, with #PaulTyson and #Serrano dominating trends on X, accounting for 11 of the top 11 U.S. topics, according to MVP.

The fight also attracted stars and celebs like Evander Holyfield, Shaquille O’Neal, Charlize Theron, Daddy Yankee and many more.

MVP said additional viewership information, including total viewers, will be released at a later date.
