Network of No Shame: CNN Originally Reported That Murdered Hamas Hostage ‘Had Died,’ Didn’t Mention How

The tragic news broke Saturday night that the Israel Defense Forces had recovered six bodies of hostages executed by Hamas. One of them was a 23-year-old American named Hersh Goldberg-Polin.

HEARTBREAK: American Hostage Hersh Goldberg-Polin, 5 Others Murdered by Hamas

But leave it to CNN to add another entry into the “you can’t hate the media enough” files, because their headline initially stated that Goldberg-Polin had “died.” Of what? A disease? An accident? They didn’t say.

This is why so many people no longer trust the corporate—lamestream, mainstream, whatever you want to call it—media because, quite simply, they lie. In this case, you could argue that they didn’t technically lie because the hostages did in fact die, but the intent of the headline was quite clearly to soften the reality of what actually occurred.

Outrageous.

Even a Democrat, New York Rep. Ritchie Torres, felt he had to call them out on it:

The rockets did not just “land” on Druze children and civilians.  They were fired by Hezbollah.

Words matter because the truth matters.

Goldberg-Polin was abducted during the Oct. 7 Hamas rampage that killed over 1,200 people and started the ongoing war in Gaza. Video from the attack shows that his hand and part of his arm had been blown off before he was taken away by terrorists.

He didn’t just die:

After facing intense blowback for their gaslighting, eventually, the far-left outlet changed the wording:

The headline now said, “Israel’s military says six hostages ‘brutally murdered’ in Gaza, including Israeli-American Goldberg-Polin.”

“Shame on you CNN and all those media outlets that continue to twist the English language to exonerate terrorists and murderers,” Mark Dubowtiz, the CEO of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, said.

Incredibly, CNN didn’t even mention the murders in their entire earlier story:

The White House confirmed the murders at around 11:00 p.m. Saturday, but hours after the fact, CNN shared on X that the hostages had “died.” Furthermore, CNN’s entire 12:00 a.m. story did not mention in the text that the hostages were murdered, either.

It wasn’t the only case of media misinformation this weekend; NBC’s Kristen Welker flat-out claimed that Kamala Harris attended the dignified transfer of the 13 servicemembers killed at the Abbey Gate in Afghanistan during the Biden-Harris botched withdrawal. The only problem with that assertion? It’s completely untrue.
