New audio released of North Texas native Jonathan Majors allegedly admitting to strangling ex-girlfriend ahead of new movie release

Michael B. Jordan said in an interview he would work with Majors again days before the audio was released.

LOS ANGELES — It’s been a busy new year for Jonathan Majors. He recently tied the knot with his partner Meagan Good, has a new movie coming out this weekend, and had audio released of him allegedly admitting to strangling his ex-girlfriend.

Rolling Stone released the audio Monday, where he reportedly tells his then-girlfriend Grace Jabbari, “I’m ashamed I’ve ever — I’ve never [been] aggressive with a woman before. I’ve never aggressed a woman — I aggressed you.”

“You strangled me and pushed me against the car,” Jabbari responded.

“Yes, all those things are under ‘aggressed,’ yeah,” Majors said.

Majors was convicted of misdemeanor assault by a jury in December 2023, but avoided jail time. Instead, he was ordered to complete a year-long counseling program. He was first arrested in March 2023. Jabbari later dropped a lawsuit against Majors accusing him of assault and defamation.

It was a few days before the new audio dropped when Majors’ Creed III co-star Jordan told GQ he would work with him again.

“But he’s doing great, just got engaged. I’m proud of his resilience and his strength through it all, and [his] handling [of] it. I’m glad he’s good. That’s my boy,” Jordan told GQ.

Majors also sat down for an extensive interview with Variety conducted hours after the release of the audio by Rolling Stone. The interview was done in promotion of Majors’ new film, Magazine Dreams. Initially scheduled to release two years ago, the movie was dropped by its distributor, 20th Century Spotlight, before being picked up again late last year by Briarcliff Entertainment.

During the interview, Majors spoke briefly about his firing from Marvel after his conviction. He had been planned to play the lead antagonist, Kang the Conqueror, in the next Avengers movies. He said during the interview he would be open to playing the role again.

“I loved my time at Marvel, and I still love Kang,” Majors said. “I’m watching them. I see what they’re doing and I’m pulling for them. If they need me, they know where I’m at.”

News also broke this week of Majors and his partner, Good, getting married.

“They truly care for one another,” one source told People.
