Federal law enforcement sources have confirmed that a truck now linked to an investigation in New Orleans passed through Eagle Pass, Texas, two days ago, Fox News reported.
The details of the truck’s journey and its connection to the ongoing probe remain under scrutiny.
Authorities are still working to confirm the citizenship status of the suspect involved. This latest development highlights the truck’s passage through a key border crossing, adding another layer of complexity to the unfolding case.

The suspect plowed a vehicle into a crowd of revelers in the early morning hours of New Year’s Day, killing 10 and injuring at least 35. The incident took place at approximately 3:15 a.m. CST, and those injured were taken to local hospitals in varying conditions, some of them critical.
After the ramming, the suspect allegedly exited his vehicle and opened fire before he was neutralized by the police, it was reported.
A terrified witness at the scene told CNN, “All I seen was a truck slamming into everyone on the left side of Bourbon sidewalk.” Kevin Garcia, 22, added, “A body came flying at me.” He then said he heard gunshots.

New Orleans officials were quick to call the incident an act of terror, with Mayor LaToya Cantrell stating, “We do know that the city of New Orleans was impacted by a terrorist attack.”
She later added that she had spoken with President Joe Biden and other White House officials, with Biden reportedly offering her “full federal support” in the investigation.
He had reportedly been briefed by the Department of Homeland Security and other officials and will continue to be throughout the day.

Cantrell has also been in touch with Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry, it was reported. Cantrell added, “What I am asking at this time is prayers for those who have lost their lives in the city of New Orleans due to this tragedy.”
Landry himself posted a message on X asking for prayers for the victims and their families, writing, “A horrific act of violence took place on Bourbon Street earlier this morning. Please join Sharon and I in praying for all the victims and first responders on scene. I urge all near the scene to avoid the area.”
In another statement, New Orleans Police Department Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick said the suspect’s intentions were clear as she stated, according to The Times-Picayune and The New Orleans Advocate, “It was very intentional behavior. This man was trying to run over as many people as he possibly could. It was not a DUI situation.”
New Orleans City Councilman Freddie King III reacted to the incident as well, stating, “We have our own issues of violence, but you just don’t see something of this magnitude happening in our city.”
President-elect Donald Trump is the latest individual to release a statement about the incident, linking it to illegal immigration, a policy he has been promising action on, with his proposed policies part of the reason he was reelected in 2024.
Taking to Truth Social, he posted a rant about “criminals” and illegal immigrants as he also blamed Democrats and “the Fake News Media” for the incident.
“When I said that the criminals coming in are far worse than the criminals we have in our country, that statement was constantly refuted by Democrats and the Fake News Media, but it turned out to be true,” he wrote on his platform. “The crime rate in our country is at a level that nobody has ever seen before. Our hearts are with all of the innocent victims and their loved ones, including the brave officers of the New Orleans Police Department. The Trump Administration will fully support the City of New Orleans as they investigate and recover from this act of pure evil!”
President Biden eventually released a statement of his own, writing on X on his official account, “I have been continually briefed since early this morning regarding the horrific incident that occurred in New Orleans overnight. The FBI is taking the lead in the investigation and is investigating this incident as an act of terrorism.”
He continued, “I will continue to receive updates throughout the day, and I will have more to say as we have further information to share. My heart goes out to the victims and their families who were simply trying to celebrate the holiday. There is no justification for violence of any kind, and we will not tolerate any attack on any of our nation’s communities.”
