COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KVII) — A TV news anchor in Texas was arrested on domestic violence charges after police said she broke her boyfriend’s nose.
Heather Kovar was arrested Monday night in College Station.
According to court records, Kovar was drinking margaritas at a Mexican food restaurant when she got into an argument with her boyfriend over relationship issues they’ve been having.
They went back to her apartment across from the Texas A&M University campus where TAMUPD said the fight turned physical.
Kovar punched him 12 times in the face, bit his left arm and scratched his other arm, according to court documents.
He suffered a “bloody broken nose.”
The boyfriend then barricaded himself in the bathroom.
Kovar has been the weekend anchor at KBTX in Bryan since May 2023.
According to the station, “KBTX management is investigating the matter.”
