CARLSBAD, California — The No. 13 Texas A&M women’s golf team is set to compete at the 2024 NCAA Championships May 17-22 at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa.
The Aggies are led by WGCA National Coach of the Year Finalist Gerrod Chadwell who is in his third year at the help of Texas A&M. His lineup features 2024 All-SEC First Team and Second Team selections Adela Cernousek and Cayetana Fernández García-Poggio, respectively. Cernousek is fresh off winning the U.S. Open Qualifier in Pearland, Texas, and is averaging a 70.07 stroke average.
Also in the lineup are Blanca Fernández García-Poggio, Zoe Slaughter and Jennie Park. Sky Sudberry will serve as the alternate. The Aggies will be teeing off at 3:50 p.m. on Friday to begin the stroke play portion of the tournament. They will be looking to place within the top 15 by the end of the third round, and inside the top eight at the conclusion of Monday’s round to qualify for match play.
The Maroon & White have advanced to match play each of the past two years, including two trips to the NCAA semifinals. Blanca Fernández García-Poggio, Slaughter, Park and Cernousek were on both of those semifinal teams.
