We are facing unprecedented challenges at the border, in our communities, and on our college campuses.
Meanwhile, Washington’s failure to deliver any solutions is leaving Texans and Americans frustrated and wondering if we’ll ever be able to get our country back on the right track.
As someone who is no stranger to unprecedented challenges, I often revisit the Bible verse that helped me through my accident almost 40 years ago that left me partially paralyzed:
“Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.” – James 1:12
This life-changing accident may have broken my back, but it didn’t break my spirit. Guided by my faith and the support of my family, I learned there is no challenge too great to overcome if we come together and remain steadfast in our mission each and every day.
What a lot of people are unaware of is that, in Texas, we had over 100 years of Democrat leadership in our state. It was only in the last few decades that Republicans took control of the state. It didn’t happen overnight; Republicans won elections to key leadership positions by promoting good old-fashioned common sense when Texans needed it most.
No matter what challenge Joe Biden and the Democrats have thrown our way, Texas remains a shining example of what REAL leadership looks like – and it’s a result of decades of strong conservative values that stays true to our Texas way of life.
Hi, this is Greg Abbott. Whether you were born in Texas, moved here yesterday, or are following along from afar, I’m glad you’re here.
If you didn’t know, a tree fell on me while I was out jogging in my 20s and left me paralyzed from the waist down. Supported by my family and faith, I pulled through that difficult time and recognized life is defined not by the challenges we face, but by how we respond to those challenges.
This rings true for our state and its people, too.
Texas has always been a land of freedom and opportunity. Since we won our independence as a sovereign nation in 1836, Texas has been the natural home for entrepreneurs, adventurers, pioneers, and leaders. My job as Governor of Texas is to defend the values that keep Texas #1! We are off to a great start.
Since I became Governor, Texas has added more than 2 million new jobs. We’re home to over 3 million small businesses that employ nearly half of all working Texans, and we’re #1 for Fortune 500 company headquarters. We’re also #1 for economic development, exports, and jobs created by Black business owners, Hispanic women business owners, and veteran women business owners.
In Texas, everyone can succeed.
My wife Cecilia, the first Hispanic First Lady of Texas, our daughter, Audrey, and I – plus our three Golden Retrievers, Peaches, Pancake, and Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit – love this great state and are proud to call it home. My life is defined by public service, and I’m honored to continue to serve as your Governor.
As Joe Biden refuses to address the border crisis he created, Texas continues to work in his absence to defend our state and our nation.
In fact, Texas is the first and only state in U.S. history to build our own border wall.
While some politicians have criticized the HISTORIC steps that Texas has taken to defend the border under Governor Abbott, most Texans overwhelmingly support his leadership. If you support our Governor’s mission to defend Texas’ border, let us know by grading his job performance today:
