North Tarrant Express Capacity Improvement Project causing traffic backups around I-820

According to TEXpress Lanes, road work for this portion of the project will last until 10 a.m. Sunday.

FORT WORTH, Texas — The first beams of the North Tarrant Express Capacity Improvement Project are being placed on Beach Street and Interstate 820 on Saturday night, causing some delays for drivers.

According to TEXpress Lanes, all lanes of northbound and southbound Beach Street at I-820 closed Saturday at 8 p.m. and will not reopen until 10 a.m. on Sunday.

TEXpress Lanes says northbound traffic is being redirected to Haltom Road and southbound traffic is being redirected to Mark IV Parkway.

This project will add a new main lane in both directions along the North Loop of I-820 and a new TEXpress lane in each direction along Airport Freeway/SH-183, according to TEXpress Lanes.
