North Texas police chase ends with suspect crashing into utility pole, taking out multiple transformers and lines

 

A nearby driver captured the end of the chase on video that shows the suspect crashing into a utility pole, and taking out multiple transformers and power lines.

FORT WORTH, Texas — A North Texas driver caught on video the dramatic end of a police chase, which led to the entire road being shut down for multiple hours.

On Monday, the Fort Worth Police Department ‘s Real Time Crime Center spotted a suspect wanted for a felony offense in the area’s South Division. Members of the department’s Direct Response Unit caught up to the car and a brief pursuit began.  

The chase eventually ended on Hemphill Street in Fort Worth. There, a nearby driver captured video of the end of this chase, which shows a white pickup truck speeding past from right to left. 

The suspect can then be seen crashing into a utility pole, taking out multiple transformers and power lines.

The driver and a passenger were both injured, arrested, and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, officials said. 

Medical personnel reportedly treated one officer on the scene, but he was not transported to the hospital.

Hemphill Street was shut down for about 6 hours as a result of the accident, officials said.
