WEATHERFORD, Texas — At this point, it’s not a matter of if, but how North Texas will be featured in the latest episodes of “Yellowstone,” and the rest of show creator Taylor Sheridan’s universe of Paramount dramas.
With the show’s namesake ranch located in Montana, scenes from around Texas have played as prominent of a role in this current season, most notably at the 6666 Ranch and the surrounding Panhandle area (and where a “Yellowstone” spinoff show is rumored to be in the works). The 6666’s involvement makes sense: Sheridan led a group of investors who purchased the sprawling property a few years ago.
But on Sunday night, Sheridan took us to another Texas ranch of his, this time closer to the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
And he featured himself and one of North Texas’ newest celebrity residents in a starring role.
Bella Hadid, the supermodel who’s dating Texas horse trainer Adan Banuelos, made a guest appearance playing the part of Sheridan’s character’s girlfriend.
Sheridan’s character, a horse trainer named Travis, operates a horse cutting business at the Bosque Ranch, which is a real-life ranch owned by Sheridan and located about 45 minutes southwest of Fort Worth.
The scene included an amusing exchange between Sheridan’s character and a group of Brazilian horse buyers, who were bidding on a high-priced cutting horse. (The scene, by the way, is set to Texas singer Hayes Carll’s “Down the Road Tonight,” and Carll makes a brief cameo appearance). The buyers offered $2 million. Sheridan’s character then introduced another group of bidders, who were actually just his maintenance workers. The fake bidders drove up the price, until the Brazilian buyers offered $3 million.
While this back-and-forth is unfolding, Hadid’s character is talking with Kelly Reilly’s Beth Dutton, who asks her what she sees in “Travis” as he puts a horse through a show routine for the buyers.
“Have you ever seen him ride before?” Hadid tells her.
Anyways, the crux of the Bosque Ranch scene was Beth Dutton needing Travis’ help to sell off horses back at the Yellowstone in Montana. We won’t risk any spoilers from there.
Back in September, we sat down with Hadid’s real-life boyfriend, Banuelos, who talked about his new life in the spotlight, dating Hadid, who also has a passion for horses.
“It’s amazing,” Banuelos said. “I have a whole new respect for my woman’s life that she has had to deal with because it gets a little crazy. It’s awesome to see how beautifully she handles all that. When this whole deal started, she’s like, ‘Hey this is your deal, you do it, and I’m like, ‘Baby I’m bringing you a horse, hopefully, you change your mind.”
